The Becklan Family is a family of orphans, but no less a family for that. Some of the nobler Families call it a clan, and the poorer folk call it a guild, but to the law of Vizyon they are a Family for all intents and purposes. For an orphan, adoption by this family allows them a chance at better occupations than begging and menial labor.
